Day Bargaining Update

September 2, 2016

Dear Chapter Presidents,

Today representatives from the MCCC met with representatives from the Board of Higher Education and the Colleges regarding the negotiated raises under the 2015-18 Day collective bargaining agreement.

We came to agreement that the Colleges will proceed to pay the MCCC salary increases in effect as of July 1, 2016 in the next available pay period beginning October 7, but no later than October 21, instead of waiting for the Legislature to act on the fiscal year 2016 appropriation. These raises will be retroactive to July 1, 2016. This increase will include the salary increase of 2.0% effective July 1, 2015, the classification adjustments, if applicable, effective June 30, 2016, and the salary increase of 2.5% effective July 1, 2016. Upon legislative appropriation, the Colleges will then pay the retroactive payments for the 2015-16 academic year as called for under 2015-18 Day collective bargaining agreement.

We will provide additional details early next week, but wanted to share the most pertinent information with you as soon as possible. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

Thank you.
